今夜の司会は、TITMCを愛してやまないベテラン、TMMAさん。「ややパブリックな感じにしたい」という思いが込められ、この一年の振り返りから、会はスタートしました。そして、＜今夜の言葉＞を発信するのは…ウィットと言えばこのかた、TMKKさん！紹介されたのは「型破り」という言葉です。

• 準備スピーチ＃１

最初のスピーチはTMONさんの『おかゆの話』。展開がほぼ予測不能なこちらのタイトル…。「水戸黄門の農民」や「おしんの祖母」の例から出発し、＜貧＞と＜病＞のイメージが付きまとうおかゆが、なぜか同僚の「おじや」を追い越し、ついに現代の高価なおかゆ定食に出世するに至るまで、その「どちらでもよい」経緯を、真面目な面持ちでプレゼンするONさん。そこがまた面白い！「ホテル業界との癒着問題？」や「ホワイト案件」といったピリッとした＜薬味＞を添えつつ、ユーモアでしっかり「おだし」を取って、絶品のおかゆストーリーに仕上げ、私たちをホット温かな思いで満たしてくださいました。

• 準備スピーチ＃２

年末と言えば、TMAOさんの『「今年の漢字」―予想』！予想だけならものの１分で終わってしまうのでは？それはそこ、ベテランのＡＯさん。「新流行語大賞」との違いや、歴代の「今年の漢字」を紹介しつつ、私たちをぐんぐんスピーチに引き込みます。「そうだったのか、その背景！」と会場が盛り上がったところで、発表されたＡＯさんの予想はずばり、「米」。令和のコメ不足や米国大統領選といった納得の理由から、米倉涼子や米津玄師といった、ややムリヤリの理由まで、渾身の解説を辿りつつ、私たちも熱くこの一年を振り返りました。（スピーチ翌日に発表された結果ではベストテン入りを果たしています！）

• 準備スピーチ＃１への論評はストーリー・テラーの巨匠TMKKさん。具体例を挙げての導入部分の素晴らしさ、現在と過去の対比がわかりやすかったというコメントがありました。おかゆとおじやで決着をつけてほしかったのが心残りだそうです！

• 準備スピーチ＃２への論評はTMKYさん。型通り(年末恒例)でありながらも型破りな展開！寛いだ雰囲気の中で、背景、過去の例、今年の予想といった期待を膨らませる展開でした。視覚資料の文字が多かったのが気になる点。

さて、来年はどんな年になるのでしょうか。何があっても”Just do it！！”

• Prepared Speech＃3 

In his speech “The Victory of Kataller in Toyama,” TMYU passionately talked about the dramatic victory of his favorite soccer team. Ten years ago, Kataller was promoted from J2 to J3. Unfortunately, they were downgraded to J1. A win or a draw in this game would have ensured their promotion to J3. TMYU hopped on the Shinkansen to cheer on Kataller, shouting and gesturing enthusiastically. How overjoyed! Kataller staged a late comeback!!  After the thrilling game, TMYU reflected on his own goals: ‘How many goals have I tried this year? Have I achieved any? If not, just try again, and your chance will come!'”

When we hear the title “After 20 Years,” what do we think of? Knowing TMNS’s sincere attitudes for work, we might assume she would be discussing her 20-year career. Well, that’s not right! She is actually talking about GOLF! After 20 years of playing golf, golf has become more than just a game or competition for her. Through golf, she has learned to handle challenges, manage unexpected situations, and build strong friendships over long days on the course. Golf has become a kind of philosophy for her, always inspiring and satisfying her. The beauty of golf is not found in the final score, but in the experience of being on the course.

• Table Topics Session

Today, we have four table topics suggested by our skilled and generous table topic master, TMSE. 

1. What do you still want to accomplish this year? What are your goals for next year?  TMKG replied, “I visited Singapore this year, but unfortunately, I got sick the next night and had to stay in the hotel for the rest of my trip. So, next year, I’d like to visit the city again and really enjoy myself.”

• We still have 10 days left this year. If you were to take a trip in the next 10 days, would you prefer to visit Tohoku in the east or Kansai in the west?” Today’s guest, Mr. K replied, “I’d rather visit Kansai, as Tohoku is quite cold this time of year.” Our kind guest did not forget to show his consideration: “I apologize to those who live in Tohoku.” How polite!

• “Choose any country you like. If you were its representative, how do you appeal the country?”  TMNF replied, “Having lived in Singapore for a few years, I’d love to represent the country. I admire many things about Singapore, such as…” All the members have been attracted by her heartful description of Singapore!

• “Some countries are pushing Japan to develop nuclear weapons to prepare for potential global conflicts. What is your stance on this issue?  TMKM replied: “While Japan is under the U.S. nuclear umbrella, I am still opposed to having our own nuclear weapons. We have witnessed the horrors of Hiroshima and understand the immense risks of nuclear weapons. Although I recognize the complexities of this issue, my position remains the same.”

TMKM praised the speaker’s energetic gestures and movements, which effectively conveys the speech’s purpose. However, TMKM suggested that a slightly softer tone of voice might be more appropriate for some senior members.

TMKI commended the speaker’s logical structure and use of metaphors. To further enhance the speech, TMKI suggested varying the vocal tone and volume to better convey the intended message.

TMKM noted that all sessions were conducted promptly. The meeting was enjoyable and gave us valuable learning opportunities.

師走直前の例会。会長も忙しく仕事の都合で間に合わず、教育担当副会長TM K.M. にて開会しました。ゲストのTM. A.K.ご本人より、Area Director代理としてクラブ視察にみえていることをお話いただきました。

例会の司会、TMOEを務めるのは、落語が好きで向学心が無限のTM　K.K.

今日も盛りだくさんのプログラムゆえ、2時間の例会を前半後半で日本語、英語の部と通例のかたちにせず、日英のスピーチを前半、論評を後半に行うかたちで例会を進行しました。

今夜の言葉を紹介予定だったTM H.H.は体調不良とのこと。例会前に会場にきて、言葉だけをホワイトボードに記して帰宅。（どうぞお大事に！）　例会中に使おうとボードに記していったことばは、「しみじみ」と「Deeply」。

[Speech Session/　日本語・英語スピーチセッション]

■準備スピーチ1　TM　N.K. 「日本一！」（15分）

TM　N.K.のプロジェクトは、邪魔をしてくる聴衆を前に、うまくつきあってスピーチを話し終えること（Managing a difficult audience）。スピーチを邪魔する「お役目」をあらかじめ教育担当によって、会員5人ほどにしっかりと事前に託されていました。　

スピーカーのTM　N.K.は、横浜生まれ、横浜育ち。けれど、今年プロ野球で日本一に輝いた、横浜DNAベースターズのファンではない。「日本一なんて話さないで、世界一の話をするべきでしょう」、「ここ東京のクラブで野球の日本一を語るなら、巨人のことでしょう」などと割り込んでくるひと、勝手に隣のひととおしゃべりをはじめるメンバーなどにときに声をかけながらスピーチを続行。最後は、幼少期に好きな野球チームの勝敗で機嫌がよかったり悪かったりした親、スポーツが好きでもないのに巻き込んでくる上司などの話から、好きでもないひとまで巻き込むべからず、とのメッセージでしめくくりました。

■準備スピーチ1　TM　K.A.　「キリンのキンちゃん」

TM　K.A.は、キリンの絵が描かれたかわいいトレーナーをきて登場。TM　K.Aの取り組むプロジェクトは声の強弱や、トーンや声色を多種多様に使い分け、表情や身振りの表現を豊かにするスピーチをすること。腹話術のような話し方を用いて、そのプロジェクトに取り組みました。ど根性ガエルのぴょん吉のように、胸にかかれたきりんの絵を、自身の手でトレーナーの中から動かしながら、一人対話劇。そのやりとりのなかで、キリンは立ったまま寝る習性があること、時速50キロで走れることなどを教えてくれました。途中、観客に代わって自身で「へえボタン」を押すなど、関西出身のTMOE（司会者）も、「新しい芸風！」と喜んでいました。

■Prepared Speech 3　TM　M.K.　「Reflecting on My Toastmasters Journey」

TM　M.K. finished her Pathways「Presentation Mastery」and made her last speech reflecting her path which took about a year and a half. She briefly reflected on her speeches: starting from the one that she won the Club Contest and afterwards moved on to further stages. Then, she talked about her speech on the Children’s song ‘ Ijin san no oshie’.  She also reflected on the speech about when she first visited the Club. From these series of speeches, she learnt the importance to talk about a topic that is audience-friendly and less personal to connect with the audience. Her next step is to make speeches more audience-friendly and to work on complicated project in English.

■Prepared Speech 4　TM　 K.I.　「Mt. Fuji」

TM K.I. ‘s project was to work on the feedback that she received last time, which was on body language and on showing emotion through her vocal variety.  The speech was about her most impressive experience in 2024- going to Mt. Fuji with her friend.  It was on a rainy day and the rain got worse as she went up the Mountain.  She was exhausted and began thinking about retiring. But her friend’s eagerness, kindness with a cup of hot water made her able to reach the top of Mt Fuji, The joy and the brightness of the sunshine at the summit was beautifully elaborated in her speech.

■論評１　TM T.M.→ 準備スピーチ1　TM　N.K.

邪魔をする聴衆に対処しながら話したTM　N.K.のスピーチを「荒波のなかで着実にすすむ大きな船のようなスピーチ」と評しました。TM T.M.はよかった点として、スピーチの間、邪魔されても狼狽せずに話すペースをかえなかったこと、ときに「わかります、わかります。」と同調し、ときに邪魔された内容をまとめて「巨人は勝った、トランプも勝った、そしてベースターズも勝った」と話を元に戻したアドリブ力を指摘。他方で「僕のスピーチ時間だから」と制圧するスタイルについては疑問を呈し、その邪魔をするひとにもっと膝をむけて話すと、さらにバージョンアップするのではないかと提案しました。

■論評2　TM H.T.→ 準備スピーチ1　TM　K.A.　

「ユーモアたっぷりなスピーチ」だったとTM H.T.は評しました。プロジェクトの目的通り、高音でキリンを表してひとりで対話するところで声のバライエティを用いて、また「へえボタン」を自分で押したり、独り芝居のようでテンポもよく、ユーモアで聴衆を引き込んでいったと論評。　入会してまもないTM H.T.の洞察による論評は鋭く、TM　K.A.がスピーチの間、時折、視線がおよぎ恥じらいを感じたところも見逃さずに指摘しました。

■Evaluation　３　TM O.N..→ 準備スピーチ1　TM　 M.K.　　

First, TM O.N. celebrated TM M.K. for completing the pathway and commented, that the tempo was just right, and it was very easy to understand the speech. He also highlighted that the speech was aligned with the purpose of the project as TM M.K. analysed her failure and success, and talked about her next step, which was very logical . He also mentioned that the speech was heart-warming. He sent his gratitude TM M.K. in return to TM. M.K. as she gave her gratitude to the audience during her speech.

■Evaluation　３　TM　 N.F.　　→ 準備スピーチ1　　TM K.I.

TM　 N.F. commented that TM K.I.’s speech was a story of hardship and joy and that gradual change how TM K.I. felt during the mountain climbing brought empathy among the audience. Also, TM N.F. mentioned that the speaker. used gesture effectively to draw the scene such as how heavy the bag was, and the breath when she was really tired. She mentioned that if TM K.I. used conversation during the speech, it was even better, introducing the example when the friend brought the hot water ’‘ Here is the hot water, so have a drink!’

■GE　 TM.Y. U.

例会を総括して論評するGEのTM.Y. U.は、常々気になっていた論評の形式についてコメント。例会休憩中に、ゲストでいらしたTM. A.K.が他のクラブで行われている論評のやりかたを伺ったと、その内容をシェアしました。論評の仕方として「よかった点、改善点」方式、のほか「よかった、改善、よかった点」を伝えるサンドイッチ方式、最後にサマリーをつける方式などがあることを紹介し、論評者はスピーカーが気づいてない点を気づいてもらうような役割があることを再確認しました。

今日の例会は、参加者が通常より多く（なんと17名！）、新会員、久しぶりの出席した会員など、多様性のある会員が参加していたこと、今年残りの例会も毎回大切にしつつ、来年は500回目の例会を迎えることにふれて前向きな雰囲気のなかで例会を締めくくりました。
